THE PRIVATE SECTOR
The sale of products to private Wine & Liquor Stores is possible in the Province of British Columbia. We work closely with the BCLDB, private retailers, restaurants, hotels, private clubs, fishing and golf resorts, and other top clients.

BACKGROUND
Historically in British Columbia, beverage alcohol is under the jurisdiction of the provincial government through their liquor board and if you wish to sell products in the Provincial Liquor Stores, all products most be approved by them before being accepted for import.

Across Canada each liquor board is autonomous, and operates under its own policy and guidelines. As agents, we are familiar with the differences in the listing procedures of each of these governments, and are aware of opportunities for specific products as they arise in the individual markets. After obtaining a listing, we persistently market these wines to ensure they meet government quotas and remain on the import list for re-order. In addition, we command the unique ability to promote and protect our brands in the private marketplace by working closely with Liberty Wine Merchants and other fine wine retailers.

FIRST STEP
In order for us to act on your behalf once a product is listed, it is necessary for the British Columbia Liquor Board to be informed that you have appointed us as your representative and that we have secured the necessary authorization to act on your behalf. This permits Liberty Merchant Company to place Purchase Orders through the BC Liquor Distribution Branch, and ship product from the Agent Stocking and Special Order Programs to our retail customers. We warehouse in Vancouver, BC, and freight-forwarding services are available.
